Definitely, maybe
The makers of Amy are set to produce an Oasis documentary
They’ve been granted “unprecedented access” to the Britpop band.
After the runaway success of both Amy and Montage Of Heck this year, it’s little surprise to see music documentaries back on the agenda in a big way - next up, an Oasis one, apparently.
Screen Daily reports that the Britpop heroes are set to be the subject of a documentary by James Gay Rees and Asif Kapadia, the duo behind Amy. “Unprecedented” access has apparently been given to the filmmakers, including unseen archive footage. Noel and Liam Gallagher will also play a part in telling the band’s story from 1991 when Noel first joined his brother Liam’s band to the group’s ultimate demise.
Last week, Noel Gallagher told Chris Moyles that Oasis are in no rush to reform. “I’m sure there are countless, thousands of people who would love it,” he said. “But there’s one that wouldn’t - me. One should never say never, though, when someone’s waving a check for a quarter of a billion.” Anyone wanna start a Kickstarter?
