VANT whip up a political storm at Glastonbury 2016
If there’s anyone fit to lead the revolt against Brexit, the band make it abundantly clear it’s them.
VANT are ripping William’s Green to shreds this afternoon, and there’s an added bite to Mattie’s usual scorn. No surprise; most of Glastonbury are still shocked, angry, and upset following this morning’s Brexit news. Viciously attacking every riff like it’s the pasty human blancmange Boris Johnson himself, he demands “if anyone voted leave here, fuck off. Get the fuck out my tent.” Right on.
“To be honest, there’s no place I’d rather be after the news of last night,” Mattie tells a hushed crowd. “I’m sure all of you will agree that this is the time to take action, and revolt against this racist, bigoted, pig-fucking system.” An almighty roar goes up across the tent, and VANT barrel straight into ‘Birth Certificate’ – a rip-roaring tirade directed at border controls. It’s all the more vital today.
With an axe to grind tucked under one arm, and a cannon-load of gigantic rock songs under the other, VANT wreak chaos today at Glastonbury. If there’s anyone fit to lead the revolt, it’s this lot.
