VANT announce indefinite hiatus

The band are releasing a new mini-album ‘Talk Like Thunder’ to say goodbye, for now.

Sad news for this Monday evening: VANT have announced they’re going on an indefinite hiatus.

Releasing their debut album ‘Dumb Blood’ at the start of this year, they played the main stage at Reading & Leeds in August, and are set to head out on tour for a run they’re (now suitably) calling ‘The Last Days Of Punk’ at the end of this month, running into November.

They’re set to release a new mini-album called ‘Talk Like Thunder’ as a goodbye for now, and it’s being previewed by new single ‘Jump’.

Taking to their social media accounts, the band say: “We are VANT from Planet Earth. Some of you were right to question the title of our upcoming tour ‘The Last Days Of Punk’. We can now officially reveal that we are going on an indefinite hiatus.”

“We wanted to end this part of our journey where we began, in tiny venues, in often over-looked towns,” they continue. “We came from those places (Seaham, Poulton-le-Fylde, Sandy Lane, Bensham) and when a band played anywhere near us, whoever they may have been, we were grateful and elated. They were the bands that made us want to make music in the first place. They showed us it was possible. It seems apt for us to return the favour one last time before we depart to explore other musical worlds for a while.

“To accompany these final dates we will be releasing a mini album entitled ‘TALK LIKE THUNDER’ on our own label DUMB BLOOD RECORDS. We will be streaming the penultimate track ‘JUMP’ for the next few days. The rest will follow soon.”
