Someone nicked an entire cash machine from T in the Park

A spot of petty theft in the early hours of a festival isn’t totally uncommon, but most drunken revellers tend to stick to pilfering the odd traffic cone or ketchup sachet. On Friday night at T in the Park, however, a mystery robber made off with an entire cash machine.

We’ve no idea how they managed to nick the giant ATM unit from the main arena in the middle of the night, but days on, it’s still missing without a trace. Perhaps Hard-Fi nicked it?

Police report that “a significant amount of cash” was inside the cash machine, and upped security for the rest of the weekend.

A fake twitter account claiming to be the missing ATM has appeared online. “I’ve been wrapped up in sleeping bags and duct tape and am now in the back of a Ford Transit,” it claimed yesterday.
