Yay!
‘Ere we go, ‘ere we go, ‘ere we go! Superfood announce new album ‘Bambino’
We chat to the band about the new record, out in September, and its new single, A-grade banger ‘Unstoppable’.
After returning with two absolute smashers - ‘Double Dutch’ and ‘I Can’t See’ - Superfood raised a fair few suspicions that there was an entire album to follow. And now Dom Ganderton and Ryan Malcolm have only blimmin’ confirmed the thing.
Superfood’s second album is titled ‘Bambino’ (which means ‘baby’ or ‘silly one’ in Italian, depending who you ask) and comes out on 8th September via Dirty Hit!
Along with sharing this exciting little nugget of news, Superfood have also shared yet another banger - ‘Unstoppable’. The track listing for their new album is as follows:
‘Bambino’
1. Where’s The Bass Amp?
2. I Can’t See
3. Unstoppable
4. wibble mtn
5. Natural Supersoul
6. Need A Little Spider

Listen to ‘Unstoppable’ below, and read on for our exclusive interview with Superfood as they announce album number 2.
Well, well, well! A new Superfood album! How excited are you about it, on a scale of 1 to 100?
Yes mate. Well, my back’s against the wall here - I can’t say anything less than 100, surely? But if I was going to tell you how excited I really am about it, I’d have to say 100.
How long have you been working on this, then?
Fucking ages! We’ve had it mixed for about 10 months now. And it took us about 18 months to write and record, so a total of 28 months? It had to be that long, though. I think when people hear it all together they will get why we’ve been away so long, and how much we’ve put in.
If this album was a plate of food, what would it be?
Classic question here! Erm. It’s quite a diverse record, so I’m going to go with mezze.
Any plans to celebrate announcing your new album announcement by jumping on the pavement with your friends?
Bad leg. Probably just the 16 pints for me.
You’ve just put out a song from said album called ‘Unstoppable’. What makes you feel most ‘Unstoppable’?
This song is written about the feeling you get when you’re drinking without purpose. Your cogs just can’t stop turning, and you become a different beast. So I guess I feel unstoppable after the 16 pints.
