Listen: Sales Stream New ‘Ez’ Track

Earlier this year, Orlando duo SALES pretty much re-defined the bog-standard approach of how to take on an acoustic-led song without sounding like you’re living 40 years in the past. Their ‘Renee’ single was picked out in a Neu Bulletin back in June. Stripped to the bone and simple at the core, it was bewildering that zero bands had come close to making anything that sounded remotely like it before.

Latest song ‘ez’ comes after casual listeners have become gradually accustomed to the pair’s chopped-and-screwed dynamic. That doesn’t make this track any less flooring, sending looped guitar patterns into a comfy lull. Organic elements are forced through a digital prism, like old-school folk being shoved into a time machine. It’s a little like listening to Brighton’s Gaps, another band who go old-school with a completely modern routine.
