Premiere: Listen: Adolescent Streams ‘Golden Halls’ EP In Full
Listen to a mind-altering new EP from Brighton producer Alex Parish ahead of its 12th May release.

It’s difficult to pick out a figurehead for all of this, but there’s a newly emerging line of producers blending the organic and the electronic like the two worlds were always meant to meet. Douglas Dare’s new ‘Whelm’ EP mixes softly-softly pianos with a distorted, punchy darker side, and there’s a thread between his work and that of Brighton-based producer Alex Parish aka Adolescent. His ‘Golden Halls’ EP starts with distinct, simple chords, but everything thereafter takes its own course.
This is a work both teeming with energy and ready to find its resting place. ‘Golden Halls Pt. 2’ sees Parish blurring the lines between heady melodies and all-out ambience. Chilled-out, dreamy - whatever you want to label it, there’s an emotional core to it all, something which makes Adolescent out to be more of a songwriting project than something purely production-rooted.
‘Golden Halls’ is released on 12th May. Catch Adolescent playing live in Brighton on 12th May (Bermuda Triangle) and at London’s Old Blue Last (13th May).
