Colin’s curating a show at Oxford’s Jericho Tavern as part of a week’s celebrations.

bassist Colin Greenwood - most recently known for lurking in catwalks and playing the bass in a weird, semi-religious routine - has been announced by Independent Venue Week as an Official Ambassador.

Colin’s role involves curating a show at one of the celebrated venues - Oxford’s Jericho Tavern - on 1st February.

Greenwood recites local Oxford venues as offering ‘some of the best times in our musical life’, stating that he’s ‘proud’ to have been selected as Ambassador for the 2014 events.

‘“Some of my favourite musical memories are from these independent venues and the dedicated promoters and local crew who run them.”

Independent Venue Week will runs from 28th January to 2nd February, with the following venues participating:

Glasgow - King Tuts Wah Wah Hut
London - Half Moon Putney
Norwich - Arts Centre
Newcastle - The Cluny
Cardiff – Clwb Ifor Bach (celebrating its 30th anniversary this year)
Stoke-On-Trent - Sugarmill (celebrating its 20th anniversary this year)
Liverpool - Zanzibar
Bristol - The Louisiana
Belfast - Oh Yeah Centre
Leeds - The Library
Southampton - The Joiners (celebrating its 45th anniversary this year)
Guilford - Boileroom
Sheffield - The Leadmill
Oxford - The Jericho
Plymouth - Tiki Bar
Manchester - Soup Kitchen
Tunbridge Wells - The Forum (celebrating its 20th anniversary this year)
York - Fibbers
