In Pictures Go behind the scenes of Holly Humberstone’s Splendour XR performance
The rising star filmed this weekend’s exclusive performance at Mind In Camden.
This weekend, Splendour XR - a virtual reality version of Australia’s Splendour in the Grass festival - is streaming online, with sets from the likes of The Killers, Charli XCX, Phoebe Bridgers, CHVRCHES and more.
Allowing ‘attendees’ to wander around the site, it’s the next step on the wild ride of streaming innovations that we’ve seen over this past year, and buzzy Londoner Holly Humberstone has also been getting in on the action.
Her set - filmed at Mind in Camden charity shop - will be available to watch on Sunday, but before then, take a look at our exclusive gallery of behind the scenes action from the day.
“I wanted to think outside the box and do something a little different whilst still keeping it relevant and meaningful to me,” says Holly of the performance. “I decided to film the set inside a Mind Charity shop in Camden for a few reasons. Firstly, my sisters and I are always swapping and sharing our clothes, and shopping and sourcing my clothes sustainably is something that I really care about. I got a chance to look around and buy a few items too which was fun! Secondly, Mind Charity do really important work for spreading awareness about mental health and providing support for people who are struggling. This is something I really care about and I think is particularly relevant after the year we’ve had.
“As someone who is very conscious of my environmental impact, I’m always keen to get involved with events that care about the same things as me. We have to be aware of the impact we are having and it is so important that we evolve and adapt in order to prevent further damage to our planet.”
