News Mix #27: Beaty Heart

, Beaty Heart previewed their debut album with a seashell-percussioned, tropical island of a song, one immune to the seasons. Here clearly exists a band seeking escape from sorry old winter months. Based in South London, their new single ‘Kanute’s Comin’ Round’ is out 3rd March 2014 on Nusic Sounds. As part of the storming celebrations, the band have together an exclusive mix for DIY, featuring producers Actress and Tim Hecker as well as more unexpected influences like Nils Frahm. Somehow, this is all meant to provide some kind of summer soundtrack, as the band’s description of a mix they’ve titled ‘Goldendelicious’ explains.

‘February sucks! Look outside right now, fuck. Put this mixtape on now and have Sun, Sea and Suspicious Parents on in the background, because that’s the closest it’s gonna get to summer. Close your eyes. Open them again. You’re on a sandy beach, some girls are dancing on the shore, vomiting blue into the sea, five essex boys just ran past you but you don’t care because the weather is fine, you’re in Greece, and you’ve had access to more Grigio than you could ever imagine.’
