Lisbon gets taken over by Arctic Monkeys, The Libertines and more.
This weekend sees the Portuguese capital taken over by music, as Nos Alive - previously Optimus Alive - sees the city host appearances from headliners Arctic Monkeys, The Black Keys and the reunited Libertines alongside Bastille, Sam Smith, Drenge, and loads more.
Here’s our pick of the Lisbon pops.
Jungle
With the London funk-pop collective’s debut album released next week, it’s the last pre-release chance to catch J, T and co’s tight, disco-fuelled sounds in the sunshine.
Sam Smith
Is there any stopping this Home Counties soul boy from conquering the charts worldwide? Riding high in the States now as well as back home, his set’ll be one long sing-a-thon.
Interpol
New album ‘El Pintor’ comes this autumn, and the New Yorkers are bound to showcase a song or two from the record at their festival appearances.
Kelis
With shimmering vibes aplenty from latest album ‘Food’, Kelis’ set will be the calm before that Alex Turner-shaped storm.
Parquet Courts
The Brooklyn-based post-punks’ death stare of a set is bound to be as riveting and compelling as it is frenetic.
