We’ve been asking you for your album of the year for the past two weeks now, giving you a selection of any record from our writers’ top 50 to pick from. That poll closed a little under an hour ago. We’ve been counting the votes, marvelling at the fan led campaigns, wincing at how close some came to taking the prize, and finally we have a top 10!
1. The Xcerts - Scatterbrain
2. Everything Everything - Man Alive
3. Arcade Fire - The Suburbs
4. The National - High Violet
5. Errors - Come Down With Me
6. The Futureheads - The Chaos
7. Frightened Rabbit - The Winter of Mixed Drinks
8. Los Campesinos! - Romance Is Boring
9. Broken Records - Let Me Come Home
10. Bombay Bicycle Club - Flaws
So congratulations to The Xcerts, who managed to poll several thousand votes from an insanely dedicated fanbase. Of course, if you disagree, take it up with everyone else. We’re only doing the maths!
