As far as debut gigs go, playing Green Man festival takes a little beating. That’s where Kettering duo Temples first took to the stage to showcase their own brand of neo-psychedelic sounds – and what a fitting place to start.
Temples seem hell-bent on packing as much melody and colour into their music as possible. Each song brims with vibrant tunefulness like a flashback to the golden era of 60’s psychedelia – and I dare wager there’s one or two of The Byrds albums in their record collections too.
If that sounds up your street then Temples will be playing at The Horrors infamous Cave Club night in Islington this month. With few live appearances in the calendar you might want to take advantage whilst you can.
Temples play Cave Club, The Buffalo Bar, Islington – Saturday 15th September.
