Temples return with news of fifth album ‘BLISS’
“It’s about permission: to let go, to move, and to become something unexpected.”

Kettering four-piece Temples are back, having confirmed that their style-shifting next full-length effort will be arriving on 26th June via V2 Records.
The follow-up to 2023’s ‘Exotico’, the new LP - entitled ‘BLISS’ - has been introduced by way of lead single ‘Jet Stream Heart’, a track that “explores the feeling of being seduced by music”.
Explaining more about its central concept, the band have noted that “the feeling of music in a club is visceral - almost like you’re directly wired into the song. This song blurs genres and the line between what’s a synth and what’s a guitar/bass, using home made fuzz pedals and odd studio gear to create anything but conservative sounds. We’re always striving to make a bold sonic statement.”
And if ‘Jet Stream Heart’ is anything to go by, then ‘BLISS’ as a whole promises to be just as bold, merging Temples’ psych-rock roots with the “melancholic euphoria” of early ’00s dance greats like Faithless, Underworld, and Massive Attack. In the band’s words: “it’s about permission: to let go, to move, and to become something unexpected.”
