THE GIG
The Amazing Snakeheads - London, Old Blue Last
Domino signed The Amazing Snakeheads do things the old fashioned way on record, but live they bring something frighteningly new to the table. Find out what all the fuss is about with a show at the OBL.
THE SONG
FFNORDZZ - Pop Stardom
Like sickly goo bursting right out a tower of speakers, Plymouth-based FNORDS has morphed into FFNORDZZ. Y’know, more FF, more ZZ. Although this one’s anything but sleepy. ‘Pop Stardom’ is a real don’t-give-a-shit, Gross Magic style dose of nostalgia pop. Nothing lets slip in this onslaught of a high-pitched fuzz freakshow. More please.
OTHER NEU BUSINESS
Glass Gang - Awake
The fourth of Glass Gang’s free summer downloads is their final offering of the season. This means summer is over, everything is blackened and turned to sorry ash. Meaning, Glass Gang have gone dark. ‘Awake’ is a dark ol’ misery guts, all metallic production and gnawing turns. Trent Reznor wouldn’t mind putting his name to this, we’d bet. A pitch-black triumph.
