News The Neu Bulletin (12th May 2014)
Neu’s daily new music tips include Baby In Vain and BAY.
The Neu Bulletin is a daily update of the most exciting new things DIY’s listening to. Some of the music you’ll like, some of it you won’t. We can’t please everyone, sorry.
Every day we offer up a choice show, a song of the day (branched under the understated heading “big Neu thing”) and a little something extra that’s caught our attention. Check back here every day for your latest Neu Bulletin delivery.
THE GIG
Baby In Vain - London, Old Blue Last
Beginning a brilliant week of gigs in the capital, Danish trio Baby In Vain arrive with deadly intention. The band just played this year’s Great Escape, post-unveiling the deceptively scrappy ‘Corny #1’.
THE BIG NEU THING
BAY - WYF
Like BAY’s own apparent mystique, the London group aren’t giving anything away as to what their latest ‘WYF’ song stands for. What’s your flavour? Craig David would probably be a fan. Backing up early recordings, here’s further proof that the group are schooled in shape-shifting, inventive pop; like Metronomy with a bedroom-based grit. See the Croydon three-piece support Le1f tonight at Oslo, Hackney.
