Features The Neu Bulletin (13th March 2014)
Neu’s new music guide features Radstewart, Birmingham group JUICE and Moon Gangs.
The Neu Bulletin is a daily update of the most exciting new things DIY’s listening to. Some of the music you’ll like, some of it you won’t. We can’t please everyone, sorry.
Every day we offer up a choice show, a song of the day (branched under the understated heading “big Neu thing”) and a little something extra that’s caught our attention. Check back here every day for your latest Neu Bulletin delivery.
THE GIG
Radstewart support Johnny Foreigner - Kingston, New Slang
Cardiff’s wit-fledged library punks Radstewart are bringing their intelligence, sarcy alternative rock to a tour with Johnny Foreigner. Tonight’s stopover witnesses two bands in their finest form combining for an unmissable show.
THE BIG NEU THING
JUICE - Sugar
Not to be confused with All Saints-channelling soul trio fast becoming the most exciting new band in the country, JUICE are also very exciting, but they’re from different quarters. Big, brash rock’n’roll is their forte, and they come from the same city (Birmingham) that’s produced festival giants in waiting like Peace and Swim Deep. Yeah, B-town. Get over it. Lap it up. Watch it being projected onto thousands in sweaty tents. A song like ‘Sugar’ is made for it. Get your dose.
OTHER NEU BUSINESS
Moon Gangs - I
Moon Gangs is an immersive electronic project belonging to Will Young. No, not that one! Don’t leave. Don’t leave right now. This is actually a different person, you see. Although if talent shows were held for new musicians willing to blow people’s brains out with brooding, crazy electronica, Moon Gangs would take the prize with ‘I’. It’s taken from a debut EP out 5th May on Sexbeat.
