MagicIsland - BABY BLU


Berlin’s MagicIsland take things down a simple, loved up route for their new ‘BABY BLU’ song. 1 minute in they’ll tell the song’s subject ‘I want to find you naked / When I’m in my underwear’. Doting such as this is all well and good, but it needs to be backed by something convincing. ‘BABY BLU’ isn’t the most seductive tracks - what with it being made up of quirky synth tweaks that are executed with a half-smirk - but MagicIsland are onto something here. The defeated ‘I’m just too brave for you’ coda is quite the plot-twist, too.
