THE GIG
Post Louis (supporting Daughn Gibson) - London, Birthdays
No pressure on the guys - this is their first London show - but we’re brimming with excitement as seeming how Post Louis transfer there meticulous, perfectly produced tracks to the live stage. They’ve got that baritone-led trucker to compete with too. Robbie Stern and vocalist Stephanie aka Post Louis are going to attract quite the crowd tonight. Like we said, no pressure.
THE SONG
Las Rosas - Black Cherry
One time bassist of Harlem, Jose Boyer has stepped into the limelight fronting a new project called Las Rosas. Boyer released a self-titled EP earlier in the year and returns with new track ‘Black Cherry’, which captures the spirit of early sixties pop harmonies in a head-nodding and crisp workout of jaded licks and tongue-in-cheek lyrics. [Sean Stanley]
OTHER NEU BUSINESS
Saa - Your Sword Is Your Silence
London label Left Blank keeps things deep and immersive, much like their previous signing Vessel andThrowing Snow, in this new release from Saa. It’s the project of one A. Levitas, whose brought Norweigan Linn Carin Dirdal on board. Dirdal’s pendulum-swing, from high-pitched and emotional-ridden to bold and full of declaratives, is the real draw here. Whatever meaning resides in the sentence ‘Your Sword Is Your Silence’, it’s mighty hard-hitting, and one that’ll chime out as a bittersweet rallying cry this summer.
