Wyldest, Post Louis and King of Cats impress at DIY triple headline gig

Three’s not a crowd, apparently.

“Night time comes with the promise for,” sing Wyldest midway through their closing set at tonight’s DIY triple headliner show. They, alongside a capacity Old Blue Last, have seen first hand just how true that sentiment is, as East London is treated to a diverse, four-sided showing of musical prowess.

“Won’t you lend me your eyes, so I can see what I’ve done,” pleads Karen Millar under her Five Teeth guise as she opens tonight’s proceedings. Wrapped in melancholy and armed with nothing but an electric guitar and a steely, determined stare, her beautiful music lays heavy on the shoulders of The Old Blue Last. Two tracks in and Five Teeth is comfortable enough to start dragging out the wistful lust just a touch more, giving every broken sentence the space to find its mark; directly between the ribcage. As ‘11211’ brings her set to a close amidst mournful cries of “He loves me not, he loves me,” Five Teeth remains rock-steady, despite the emotional resonance she so readily shares.
