Traams support Flamingods - Brighton, Green Door Store
Fatcat signings Traams keep it relatively local, hitching down to Brighton from native Chichester to force their progressive, often mind-bendingly loud stylings on the Green Door Store crowd. DIY favourites Flamingods headline with some mystical multi-faceted noise, while My Panda Shall Fly, Hypnotized and Shinamo Moki also play. Tickets are priced at £3.
THE SONG
Lolo - Heard It From A Friend
Cuss-loving Lolo recently featured on Panic! At The Disco’s latest single, and though ‘Heard It From A Friend’ puts a more restrained focus on her altogether, this doesn’t stop it from being an energised introduction to a fascinating solo talent. Piano-led but also reliant on the odd cover-your-ears turn of phrase, Lolo is quickly gaining a buzzing fan base, and it’s easy to see why.
OTHER NEU BUSINESS
Wishyunu - Futuray (EP)
Portland dreampoppers Wishyunu are streaming their first EP, ‘Futuray’. Centrepiece ‘Sprayy’ (which landed the band a heap of Beach House comparisons) links together more disparate pieces. There’s a sharper, more atmospheric-heavy nod to pop by way of Howling Bells, a strung out drawl Jackson Scott would be proud of and a deftly-produced opener that defies all hastily-arranged expectations.
