THE GIG
Radkey w/ Drenge - Carlisle, Brickyard
Talk about a shot to the system. It’s sibling-tour ahoy this week as Missouri’s brotherly trio Radkey join fellow thrashers Drenge on the road. This comes after last night’s storming Jools set from the support act.
THE SONG
Yard Duty - Downward Dog
Mixed Business by Yard Duty
Sydney’s answer to the brute-force, brattish charms of Parquet Courts? Quite possibly. Yard Duty sings from the suburbs about not paying taxes, about being bored and grubby and being curious about girls. ‘Downward Dog’ is a self-damning song about falling for a special someone and them subsequently ‘falling on the floor face first.’ Backed by gritty garage-punk guitars and some dry, monotoned vocals, these guys are sporting the kind of don’t-give-a-damn attitude no-gooders aspire to have.
