News The Neu Bulletin (4th December 2012)

Your mandatory dose of new music recommendations, chosen by Neu.

Every day of the week, Neu gives you a choice show and a selection of new music tips, all in the name of exposing you to something new and exciting.

THE GIG
Fidlar, Drenge - London Dingwalls
We’re assuming you prepared for this show by going shower-free for the entire weekend. This is scuzzy, grubby music to bask in the presence of. Headliners FIDLAR are veterans of their gung-ho, rock-out sound but newcomers Drenge are fast becoming names to reckon with, sporting a similarly grizzly selection of early tracks.

THE SONG
Kate Boy - In Your Eyes

It’s no surprise that Kate Boy are calling their debut EP ‘Northern Lights’. The sound, from its base roots to its sparkly centre, is Scandi-pop epitomised. Many have even asked the newly-founded, mysterious Aus/Swede pack if they’d been produced by The Knife’s Olof Dreijer. Even if that’s not the case, the group perfectly inhabit the same dark, intensely shimmering atmosphere the finest Swedish electronic acts reside in. ‘In Your Eyes’ is a b-side, would you believe.

OTHER NEU BUSINESS

Vocals are lighter, soft to the touch, and the sit snugly with deft piano flutterings in a closed, intimate environment. It’s the first time we’ve seen her perform and we can’t wait to see her play in 2013.
