Niall Galvin plays his first London show in a fair while at the recently-bred Bloodshake night. Neu’s backing Only Real’s set with some DJ’ing, well into the night. We’ll blow your mind with buzz tracks.

One Brain by Still Charon

I’ve a feeling Still Charon are trying to keep things on the downlow. First off, they claim to come from a small commune in France, which let’s face it, is unlikely when the band in questing are sporting ragged, lo-fi guitar tracks. The group interests on Facebook - simply ‘food’ - are pretty basic too. So we’re gonna go out of a limb and guess this is a UK-based bunch of punks who like being contrary all while making exciting music, as an added bonus.

Thumpers - Unkinder (A Tougher Love) (Sofar Session)


It’s all about a sense of communion with Thumpers. There’s nothing preventing their audiences from becoming enraptured, losing their bearings amongst these rousing pop songs. As was the case in this secretly filmed session for Sofar, which borders on the very brink of twee but hangs in there, just because ‘Unkinder (A Tougher Love)’ is one hell of a track, even when surrounded by happy chants and handclaps.
