Miamigo - Everyone I Know

Taking the super slick blog-pop template and brushing aside any fear of the charts, Miamigo’s latest shoots for the stars. “I’ve got troubles in my head that don’t wanna let go,” they sing, but it’s not a mopey sentiment - more a unifying anthem that’s purpose built for stadiums.

Sunface - Sunface

Crystal-clear guitar pop rarely arrives this melody-crammed, especially when it’s a debut track. We don’t know too much about this newcomer, besides the easygoing stride of his self-titled debut track. Well, we also know he likes to do faceswaps with pages in DIY. But the music - the music is exceptionally crafted, a ray of light from a bright new spark.

Burnt Seeds - Dive

The world is rightfully falling down face-first in excitement over Yak, and their incendiary live shows. Chances are Arlington musician Burnt Seeds brings a similar game. Momentum - pieces together through a headrush of psych-backed guitars - is his party trick. He’s already a specialist.

Kiiara - Gold

Racking up plays in the millions, Kiaara’s probably plotted the next five years in her foolproof plan for world domination. With the ‘Gold’ video, she’s already sitting on a throne, echoing ‘Royals’, only with added bling and surrealism. Yesterday she released her ‘Low Kii Savage’ EP, essential proof that bleepy bloopy blog pop can still open new doors.

Gold Class - It’s You

The noise and chat from SXSW is still fragmented as fuck, but Gold Class are quickly rising to prominence. Beats 1’s Matt Wilkinson picked them out from last week’s chaos, and last year’s ‘It’s You’ was criminally missed prior to this week. A stark, raving post-punk dynasty, everything’s on the line with the Melbourne punks’ delivery. ‘Life As a Gun’ echoes Protomartyr with more fear running through its veins, while ‘Perverts’ stamps down on apathy.
