Miso Extra — Adventures of Tricky ’N’ Duke

It’s a strong claim to label your sound “umami for the ears”, but there’s a certain intangible deliciousness to Miso Extra’s debut that justifies the statement. Born of English-Japanese heritage, ‘Adventures of Tricky ‘N’ Duke’ fully embraces the musical input of both countries - at some points singing in Japanese and leaning into pillowy, Yaeji-esque beats; at others, rapping in English and nodding to British hip hop. Lunar Vacation — Mold

It feels like we could all do with an extra dose of sunshine right now, and the new track from Atlanta quartet Lunar Vacation more than provides that perfect hit of vitamin D. Inspired by LA and how - according to vocalist Grace Repasky - “it felt like an immersive Instagram advertisement”, ‘Mold’ is a shimmering, technicolour offering, served with a dash of dreaminess. A little reminiscent of Alvvays, the sugary track is a delight for the senses. (Sarah Jamieson)

LILHUDDY — Don’t Freak Out

With his eagerly-awaited debut album ‘Teenage Heartbreak’ out next month, LILHUDDY is continuing to cement his place in the blossoming pop-punk revival scene. Sharing new single ‘Don’t Freak Out’ featuring fellow rising star iann dior and features heavyweight Travis Barker, Huggy also recruits All-American Rejects’ Tyson Ritter for the track. Perhaps the latter’s appearance being the reason why the chorus of ‘Don’t Freak Out’ has some serious ‘Gives You Hell’ energy, it’s yet another fun and insanely catchy new’un from the TikTok talent and will undoubtedly go off IRL. Cash & Skye — No More Candy

Country - in case you hadn’t got the memo - is cool again. From Orville Peck to Katy J Pearson, Kacey Musgraves to CMAT, the genre’s modern contingent are thriving, and into the fold with an embroidered jacket and impressive bouffant come new Third Man signings Cash & Skye. With Orville-esque, twanging guitar bends that soon give way to more jaunty Jenny Lewis-isms, ‘No More Candy’ is an unpretentious, warm-hearted introduction. It’s not trying to rewrite any rulebooks, but that’s sort of the point? (Lisa Wright)

Green Gardens — I Keep Eating Myself

Inspired by a “Bill Brandt photo of a man sheltering in a crypt during the blitz”, Leeds’ Green Gardens’ latest will instantly draw you in. Called ‘I Keep Eating Myself’, the art-rock track dazzles as raw emotion pours through the vocals over the shimmering and shapeshifting backing. Speaking on the song, the four-piece add, “Hands aren’t just for holding, coffins aren’t necessarily just for being dead inside. Life is good and don’t let the chewing overwhelm you.” (Elly Watson)
