New music guide The Neu Bulletin (Molly Burch, MOSLEY, Tsar B & more)
DIY’s essential, weekly guide to the best new music.
Neu Bulletins are DIY’s guide to the best new music. They contain every single thing that’s been played at full volume in the office, whether that’s a small handful or a gazillion acts. Just depends how good the week’s been.
Alongside our weekly round-up of discoveries, there are also Neu Picks. These are the very best songs / bands to have caught our attention, and there’s a new one every weekday. Catch up with the most recent picks here.

Molly Burch - Downhearted
Molly Burch is the latest signing to Captured Tracks, and her music is the kind that goes straight for the gut, no second’s pause. ‘Downhearted’ keeps it simple, asking questions (“will you be back tomorrow?”) like she already knows the unhappy answer. It’s a Dusty Springfield-nodding dose of melancholy.
MOSLEY - Slick Back Sniggering Twat
This is properly raw. Approach with caution. You’ll find more rough edges on this MOSLEY track than the spitting, self-damning material Oliver Lewis uses as his muse. But there’s a very, very talented songwriter sitting somewhere in the middle. ‘Slick Back Sniggering Twat’ is a cross between Mount Kimbie’s early, splintered instrumentations and a bloke on your local street corner damning the state of the modern world.
Peeling - Leisure Life
Dilly Dally’s Jimmy Tony Rowlinson forms one third of vicious punk trio Peeling. Led by Annabelle Lee, they make party music for zombies living in sewers. Suitably titled EP ‘Rats in Paradise’ comes out 14th October via Buzz Records, and ‘Leisure Life’ is a piercing, harsh indication of what to expect.
ShitKid - ShitKid EP
Crusty, stained, disgusting guitar parts rule the roost on Swedish musician Åsa Söderqvist’s new release as ShitKid. Recorded partly on a broken computer, this frazzled eight-track collection is designed to provoke; a deadly, twisted introduction that’ll degrade your brain.
Liyv - You’re Not Going to Ruin My Life
It’s a simple statement, but there’s so much power that comes from declaring ‘You’re Not Going to Ruin My Life’. A “fuck you” in the face of something destructive, it’s a positive feeling compressed perfectly on Seattle newcomer Liyv’s latest single.
Tsar B - EP
Belgian newcomer Tsar B makes music that could exist on several different planets at once. Earth-shaking bass, bhangra-nodding instrumentation and Eurovision-worthy strings give her debut ‘EP’ an otherwordly feel. Opener ’Myth’ is especially dynamic, while unorthodox banger ‘Swim’ hints at a chart-bothering future.
