Glastonbury 2014 This is Arcade Fire’s big moment
Here’s what to expect from Arcade Fire’s biggest performance to date.
Nothing to do with Arcade Fire’s latest ‘Reflektor’ album is small-scale. From the wall murals to the gigantic house-sized posters that preceded its release, right up to the current Technicolor extravaganza sported on stage - everything exists to suggest ‘This is a Very Big Deal’.
Glastonbury however feels like the biggest moment yet, maybe even one of the very reasons this record exists. It’s the biggest, boldest, most extravagant and admittedly clichéd Arcade Fire record yet. It’s picked up its critics because it’s about as subtle as the sensation of sitting on a cactus, but this is a monstrously huge record and it’s designed for big stages, events that will eventually get remembered simply on merit of their extravagance.
