What a twitter Why George Ezra is the undisputed music king of twitter
He’s spent today trending on twitter following his Radio One Live Lounge, but that’s only the tip of George’s tweety iceberg.
George Ezra has deserved an official place among Twitterati royalty for quite some time. Today, his big moment of nationwide recognition finally arrived. He got his crown for real, trending as the number one topic in the UK. Why? Because he bought gallons of sass to the Radio One Live Lounge, of course.
He’s a bit of a twitter celebrity, is George Ezra, and it’s partly because he’s a very talented musician. That goes without saying, but George Ezra is also a right hoot when it comes managing social media creatively. Few musicians - spare Cher and her erratic control of caps lock and the enter key - can even hope to rival him.
“One of the underlying reasons why the acoustic guitar-wielding George stands out in a crowd of fellow strummers,” wrote DIY’s own Jamie Milton earlier this year, “is because he does - with
every inch of his being - take the piss.”
More people should follow George’s lead and be silly prats on social media. It’d certainly make life a lot more entertaining. A serious musician, and the sassiest trending tweeter around, George’s #sass takeover is complete. These are the reasons that he is indisputable music king of Twitter.
