A Flight of the Conchords movie and reunion tour is in the works

New Zealand musical-comedy duo Flight of the Conchords (aka the “fourth most popular guitar-based digi-bongo acapella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo” are gearing up for a return.

Jermaine Clement and Bret McKenzie’s on-screen partnership came to an end with the final series in 2009, but Clement looks to have confirmed plans for a Flight of the Conchords film.

“We have actually started writing one,” he told Indiewire. “But who knows if it will ever be made, we’ve written some notes for some different film ideas. We’re not down to the stage where we’re going, ‘The film is going to be like this,’ it could be this, this, this, this, this.”

Clement also claims that he’s been putting a reunion tour on hold. Speaking to Consequence of Sound, he said: “We’ll announce it before the end of the year, hopefully, and then some time next year get on the road … after we get some new guitar strings and that sort of thing.”
