Adam Buxton channels his inner David Byrne in madcap ‘Doing It Wrong’ video
The comedian teamed up with Metronomy’s Joe Mount to record his debut album, ‘Buckle Up’.

Having recently announced that he’ll be venturing into the world of music to release a debut album, comedian and podcaster Adam Buxton has now dropped a brilliantly outlandish new single entitled ‘Doing It Wrong’.
A tongue-in-cheek comment on the multitudinous pressures of adult life, the track has a distinct David Byrne air about it - one that’s only compounded by its hyper-saturated, cartoon-inspired video.
Speaking about the record - entitled ‘Buckle Up’, out on 12th September via Decca - Adam has mused: “I don’t actually consider this actual music. One of the album titles I considered was ‘Adjacent To Music’, because every single bit of music that I’ve listened to, in my mind, is better qualified to be considered music than this.”
What’s more, the LP saw Adam team up with none other than Metronomy’s Joe Mount on production duties, who has said that a guiding principle of the music was thinking ‘what would a car full of teenagers enjoy hearing?’. In his words: “Hopefully we’ve made something a car full of teenagers will enjoy”.
