All three headliners for Glastonbury 2016 are booked, says Emily Eavis
Co-organiser also says the festival won’t be “getting any bigger”, expanding to two weekends.
Glastonbury’s 2016 headliners are all booked, claims Emily Eavis.
This year’s festival runs from 24th-28th June, with Florence + The Machine, Kanye West and The Who topping the bill. And Eavis told Digital Spy that they’re in a “really good position” by having all of next year’s headliners booked. “We’ve got three headliners for next year, so that’s completely sorted,” she said. “It means we can now focus on the rest of the bill. Earlier this year, Eavis said the headliners were “almost booked”.
Eavis also spoke about Glastonbury potentially expanding to a bigger site, or into a two-weekend fest in the style of Coachella. “I don’t really fancy doing that for Glastonbury,” she said. “For me, one of the great things about it is that it exists for one weekend and then it’s gone.”
Continuing, she said: “It’s definitely not going to get any bigger - if anything, smaller. But it’s not getting any bigger.”
Festival special! Featuring Wolf Alice, Kasabian, Lykke Li, Marmozets, Genesis Owusu and more.
