Aussie producers Ara Koufax share serene new track, ‘Market’

At the turn of this year, Australian production duo Ara Koufax went into 2015 as a hyped-up new prospect. Cut Copy approved, their serene, spaced out electronics took notes from the outside world but ultimately inhabited their own space.

The same goes for ‘Market’, the lead, title-track on their debut EP, which is coming out on Downtime this April. Spliced with splintering sax sections and careering synth lines that could either burst into life or cut completely short in a split-second, it’s a showcase of the pair’s unpredictable craft, one that clearly caught Cut Copy’s attention for a reason. Following an appearance on the legendary group’s own Cutters Records compilation, the Melbourne duo’s next step looks like being just as exciting.
