Banoffee shares a neon-lit video for ‘Ripe’

Back in June the Melbourne-born, LA-based songwriter Banoffee released her latest sweet single ‘Ripe’.

Now the stuttering electro number has got a new video, directed by Banoffee’s long-time collaborators Coco&Maxamilian. In it, she cuddles a furry white Furby while curled up on the sofa with some mates, but their neon-lit night soon turns a bit sinister as their telly is taken over by seemingly demonic forces. Actually, that demonic force is the singer herself, rendered as an uncanny, almost alien version of herself. It’s… kinda creepy.

As reported by FACT, Banoffee said of the video: “What happens when technology is just as real as flesh? Or your best friend is a Furbie? Just like the theory of dreams and the oneness of each character being the individual, ‘Ripe’ is our exploration of multi-personalities, multi-selves, and how that can break us down to our very essence”.
