BBC Radio 1 drops ‘In New Music We Trust’ playlist

BBC Radio 1 is set to remove its In New Music We Trust (INMWT), incorporating slots for new music into its C List.

The station’s made the move while launching its new Radio 1 Specialist Chart with Phil Taggart, which brings together the most talked-about new tracks, selected by DJs and listeners. Every week, the Specialist Chart will be published at the same time as the Radio 1 Playlist.

With the removal of the INMWT playlist, two slots are being added to the established C list, giving additional room for crossover acts. Currently, fifteen slots are available for the A List and B List, with ten free on the C List.
