BBC Radio 1’s Nick Grimshaw gets listening figures boost
350,000 more listeners have tuned in during the last three months.
BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show host Nick Grimshaw has received a boost with newly-unveiled listening figures.
Grimshaw now brings in 5.84 listeners a week, according to figures recorded from late March to the end of June, reports The Guardian. He’s picked up 343,000 more listeners since previous figures, which saw him holding the record for worst breakfast show ratings since 2003, when Sara Cox hosted.
The station’s overall figures have climbed 730,000 listeners to 10.4 million a week - sister station 1Xtra received a 14.2% boost, climbing to 958,000 weekly listeners. BBC Radio 6 Music, Radio 2 and Radio 3 all slumped, with 6 Music’s figures going down by 0.4%.
