Beach Baby share video for ‘No Mind No Money’

The video evokes the feelings of a new crush, directed by Lily Rose Thomas.

Beach Baby have shared the video for their forthcoming single ‘No Mind No Money’.

The video begins with a decidedly glossy American feel; all milkshakes, diners and brightly coloured serial - but the dim lighting, bleak setting and slightly gross spitting of toothpaste retains the British feel of the band’s London origins. The second half of the video is a straight up snogathon, as things get heated in the Beach Baby bedroom.

Directed by photographer Lily Rose Thomas who also lent a hand on Beach Baby’s ‘Ladybird’ video, ‘No Mind No Money’ aims to capture the feeling of the first inklings of new romance, speaking to i-D the band had this to say of the video:

“She wanted to create a fantasy… but a fantasy that makes you feel good, rather than an obsession. As the song has a sense of yearning and desire, the idea was to evoke the feelings you get when you first fancy someone”.

Having already supported Jungle and Django Django on tour, and sold out their debut Sebright Arms show, Beach Baby have also announced an October show at London’s Boston Music Room, October 8th. Tickets are on sale now.

‘No Mind No Money’ is due on 29th June via Chess Club Records - check out the video below.
