Is Sam Fender teasing Album Three on Newcastle hometown show billboards?
The poster has been spotted outside Newcastle’s St. James’ Park.
A mysterious billboard outside Newcastle United’s St. James’ Park has prompted speculation about a possible imminent announcement of a new album by Sam Fender.
The billboard shows three Newcastle shirts bearing the name ‘Fender’, the first with the number 1 on its back, alongside the title of his first album ‘Hypersonic Missiles’, the second with the number 2 alongside second album title ‘Seventeen Going Under’, and the third with the number 3, and a QR code.
The QR code takes you to a sign-up page for Fender’s mailing list.
The North Shields native is playing sold out shows at St. James’ Park on 9th and 10th June, with shows to come in Belfast and Dublin, before a summer of festivals including Reading and Leeds, Rock Werchter in Belgium and Glasgow’s TRNSMT.
Fender’s single ‘Seventeen Going Under’ reached #3 on the UK Singles Chart in 2021. He has been nominated for a Mercury Prize, and has won Ivor Novello and Brit Awards.
