Björk talks "pranksterish" creativity and Ru Paul's Drag Race

In a new Reddit AMA, Björk has answered fans’ questions about how she sees creativity, growing up in Iceland, and her love of Rupaul’s Drag Race.

Asked where she gets her creative inspiration, Björk said she “think[s] creativity always lives somewhere in everyone, but its nature is quite pranksterish and slippery and every time u grab its tail its found a nu corner to thrive in. perhaps the trick is not to force it and put it up against a wall and want it to be in a particular area, but rather w a lot of kindness sniff it out and wonder where it has gone to this time around.”

Growing up in Iceland, she explains, has helped her independence as an artist. “I prob was lucky because as a teenager in Reykjavik nothing was going on,” she wrote “So we kinda had to make it up ourselves and release it ourselves. So when I have been introduced to restricting claustrophobic routes, I’ve kinda just ignored them because knew they weren’t true . Selling 3 copies don’t scare me, more important to stay true to my nature.”

As well as discussing “the eternal spacious space of space” and how ” autographs [are] kinda silly” when a user asked Björk if she believes in the afterlife, and if she can cook, naturally she answered: “yes and i will cook there.”
