Bjork’s exhibition at MoMA previewed with new trailer, ‘Black Lake’
The retrospective exhibition begins in New York, 7th March
A trailer for the upcoming Bjork exhibition at New York’s Museum of Modern Art has been aired today. Titled ’Black Lake’, it is directed by Andrew Thomas Huang and will feature as the centre-piece for the event’s duration.
Described as “an immersive 10-minute music and film experience”, it relates to the track of the same name on Bjork’s latest album ‘Vulnicura’. A visually rich clip, the trailer stars Bjork singing lines from the track, as water passes over her body to spell her name.
New York’s Museum of Modern Art will host ‘Björk’, a “full-scale retrospective” event that runs from 8th March until 7th June. A statement from the museum says the singer’s career will be explored using “sound, film, visuals, instruments, objects, costumes, and performance. The installation will present a narrative, both biographical and imaginatively fictitious, cowritten by Björk and the acclaimed Icelandic writer Sjón.”
The event coincides with Björk’s two shows at New York Carnegie Hall in March as well as four dates at New York City Center. Bjork will play the following:
MARCH
3 New York, Carnegie Hall
14 New York, Carnegie Hall
25 New York, City Center
28 New York, City Center
APRIL
1 New York, City Center
4 New York, City Center
