Björk’s ‘Vulnicura’ album makes Official Chart Top 20 in just 24 hours
Rush-release arrived two months ahead of schedule.
Björk’s surprise new ‘Vulnicura’ release has reached the Top 20 of the Official UK Album Chart, just twenty-four hours after going on sale.
‘Vulnicura’ was rush-released by the Icelandic star following a leak over the weekend, two months ahead of a previously scheduled March release. Put out immediately on iTunes, it’s currently sitting at #16 in the UK Album Chart.
The album sits several places behind Fall Out Boy and Mark Ronson, who are currently just a few hundred copies apart in a battle for Number 1. Other high-profile new entries are set to arrive from The Decemberists and Marilyn Manson.
Catch up with DIY’s first listen review of Björk’s ‘Vulnicura’, where we say: “This time round Björk is attempting to go beyond her own experiences, applying impossibly tough realities to a new perspective.”
