Blood Orange announces new album ‘Freetown Sound’
Dev Hynes’ new record is due this spring.

Dev Hynes, a.k.a. Blood Orange, has revealed the title of his new album: ‘Freetown Sound’.
In a new interview with V Magazine, Hynes also stated that the record is due this spring. Which means soon, seeing as spring has already sprung. “It’s like my version of ‘Paul’s Boutique’,” says Hynes, referring to the Beastie Boys’ breakthrough LP; “It kind of plays like a long mix tape.”
Opening up on the themes of the record, Dev describes the record as talking “a lot about sexuality and displacement and life in the city—so it’s definitely very personal, but in doing that I think it’s probably the most relatable thing I’ve ever done.”
Dev Hynes’ old band Test Icicles were recently inducted into the DIY Hall Of Fame for their one and only record, ‘For Screening Purposes Only’. Catch up with that here.
