Blood Orange returns with details of new album ‘Essex Honey’
It’ll be the multi-hyphenate’s first LP in six years.

Blood Orange (the musical moniker of Dev Hynes) has announced that he’ll be dropping a new album - the much-anticipated follow-up to 2019’s ‘Angel’s Pulse’ - on 29th August via RCA Records.
Entitled ‘Essex Honey’, the new LP promises to be a sonic exploration of the complicated process of grieving, as well as an account of Hynes’ experiences growing up in one of the country’s most stereotyped counties. As is now his signature, he’s enlisted a mind-boggling list of collaborators to feature on the record, including Caroline Polachek, Lorde, Daniel Cesar, Turnstile’s Brendan Yates, author Zadie Smith and more.
In line with the news, Hynes has also shared ‘Essex Honey”s first two singles: the immersive, beautifully intricate ‘Mind Loaded’ (which features Caroline Polachek, Lorde, and Mustafa) and the liminal, aptly-named ‘Somewhere In Between’.
