Blur ‘May’ Reform Again For US Dates?
Speaking to The Guardian, Damon Albarn suggests a stateside tour may be on the cards.
It’s the question that will never go away, so it’s no surprise to any keen watcher of the Damon Albarn bandwagon to discover that his current press run for ‘Dr Dee: An English Opera’ may result in some Blur related questions. What is of note, however, is a response that suggests something could be on the cards.
A profile in The Guardian, amongst confirmations Albarn plans to travel to Congo to take part in a project where DJs and producers will record an album in a week, reveals that Blur ‘may’ reunite again to play US dates.
Though there are no direct quotes about the potential jaunt in the piece, questions about new material are said to be met with ‘a mumbled ‘don’t know”.
Albarn did confirm that, following the completion of a largely instrumental album alongside Tony Allen and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ bassist Flea, he plans to work on ‘the most cheesy pop record ever.’
Doctor Dee: An English Opera plays at the Palace Theatre during the Manchester International Festival, between 1-9 July.
