Blur will perform a set at Hyde Park this August.
It was revealed yesterday afternoon via Facebook that Blur would be announcing some ‘live news’ at midnight tonight, and now they have: they’ll play the Olympics’ Closing Ceremony Celebration Concert.
The band - who initially reformed for a string of UK dates in 2009, and later a single (‘Fools Day’) in 2010 - posted the following on Facebook:
‘We’re rowing in.. going for gold.. grabbing the baton.. for the high jump.. No, hang on, is that right? Fact is, Blur have accepted the invite to headline the Olympics’ Closing Ceremony Celebration Concert in Hyde Park on 12th August.’
The Specials and New Order will also play the event. For ticket information, visit btlondonlive.com.
