Blur To Premiere New Record On 2nd July?
Blur have made a new, somewhat cryptic announcement via Twitter. Could new studio material be only a couple of weeks away?

Blur have made a new, somewhat cryptic announcement via Twitter.
The post, made just a few minutes ago, suggests something is happening at 7.15pm on 2nd July.
Judging by the inclusion of #thepuritan, it may very well be the first proper play of ‘The Puritan’ - a track Damon Albarn performed live at the Poetry Olympics last week - you can check out a video of the performance below.
Or, perhaps it’s that new album we’ve all been waiting for…
The above picture was also included in the message, with the words: ‘The flash of a blade is one less getting paid’ - lyrics from the aforementioned song.

The band will return for more live dates later this year, kicking off with a show at Margate Winter Gardens on 1st August, with two Wolves gigs on the 5th and 6th and a date at Plymouth Pavilions on 7th August. They’ll also play the Olympics’ closing ceremony celebration in Hyde Park on 12th August.
