Bonnie Kemplay shares new 'Someone, Somewhere' preview 'Beginners'

Bonnie Kemplay has offered up a delicate, heartfelt new single entitled ‘Beginners’, the latest track to be lifted from her forthcoming comeback EP ‘Someone, Somewhere’ (due out on 31st July via Dirty Hit).

It follows in the wake of ‘Big Machine’, ‘Dandelions’, and ‘Paper Angel’ to be our fourth taste of what to expect from the project - a body of work which emerged following a three-year creative hiatus, during which Bonnie (who released her debut back in 2022, and went on to support the likes of Adele and The 1975) discovered who she was beyond being an artist.

As such, ‘Someone, Somewhere’ promises to be an exploratory EP of transition; as Bonnie herself explains, “a few of the songs were written in times of change and uncertainty like moving cities and dealing with a long-term injury. Many of the songs explore childhood memories and navigating evolving relationships with myself and other people.”

A warm, candid reflection of young adulthood, she’s noted that ‘Beginners’ is “about one of my best friends and the anxieties we share about the future”. Continuing, she admits: “I move between trying to soothe anxious thoughts for them, while slipping back into those same fears myself.”
