British actor gets lead role in Rivers Cuomo TV pilot

How do you solve a problem like Rivers Cuomo? Not that we’re calling the Weezer frontman a problem, per say, but it’s certainly a brainteaser he’ll have had to tackle while exec producing the pilot for the Fox TV show based on his experience of being a rock star going to college.

It’s one that’s been solved, too. News is the show has found its Rivers - and he’s a Brit. Actior Ben Aldridge will play Michael Sturges (change the names, Rivers - nobody will ever know - Ed) - and if you’ve seen him in the BBC’s recent Our Girl, you’ll know he’s the perfect man for the job: six foot one tall, dark, chiseled and commanding. All he needs is a pair of glasses, right?

Joey Morgan will play a “sweet natured, brilliant but socially anxious/awkward” roommate, according to Deadline. If it makes a full series, no doubt you’ll tell all your friends you preferred the earlier episodes - you predictable rotters.
