Budweiser launches global search for buskers with ‘MADE Underground’

Budweiser has unveiled its 2014 ‘MADE for Music’ campaign, which draws on a long-standing support of great music and artists from all over the world. MADE for Music gives global music fans access to some of the most unique musicians, artists and creators, that inspire greatness in everyone.

The 2014 Budweiser Made in America Festival, curated by JAY Z, will be headlined by the likes of Kanye West, Kings of Leon as it continues to play a major role in the global Budweiser MADE for Music platform.

This year, as part of the MADE campaign and in partnership with VICE, a new six-part series called MADE Underground (watch the trailer here) has been launched by Budweiser, to chronicle its global quest for undiscovered talent, bringing together a diverse mix of street musicians from around the world to form a global “busker band”.

Budweiser will follow them as they record a new version of X Ambassadors and Jamie N Commons’ supercharged hit “Jungle”, culminating in an once-in-a-lifetime performance at the Budweiser MADE In America Festival.

In the first part of ‘MADE Underground’ (watch the episode here), Jamie N Commons and Sam Harris (of X-Ambassadors) go out on a search to re-create the track. London “seemed like the perfect place to start” in a search for creative talent.

“Budweiser partnered with Jamie N Commons, a British folk musician, and Brooklyn-based four-piece band, X Ambassadors, to hit the streets and subways of London, Rio de Janeiro, New York and Philadelphia to find these talented, unsung underground musicians. There aren’t auditions, but instead Jamie and Sam along with the Noisey (VICE’s music channel) production team who are producing the series, are actually going around from city to city, searching for and discovering buskers and street performers, making music with them, exploring their unique styles or instruments and then selecting their favourite from each city to be a part of the band,” says Global Director of Budweiser Sports and Entertainment, Camilo Durana.

Forthcoming episodes of ‘Made Underground’ see the search continue in New York, Philadelphia and Rio. Fans can watch the episodes as they are revealed on www.youtube.com/budweiseruk.
