Canterbury: ‘We’re Just Really Excited To Be Able To Play To Our Crowds’

Canterbury will be playing the first show of their UK headline tour this evening in Cardiff (26th January) and they decided to have a quick chat with DIY about how they’re feeling.

‘On the scale of one to ten, a definite ten,’ says vocalist and bassist Luke Prebble, on how excited the band are feeling. ‘It’s been over a year now since our last headline run. We did some amazing support shows last year, and it’s always really amazing to be able to play to those big rooms, but it’s so good to be the top band on the bill. We’re just really excited to be able to play to our crowds around the country.’

And what can crowds expect? What do the band have in store?

‘We’ll be playing a good mixture between the two [kinds of material] - safe and new, a definite blend. We have new material that we will be showcasing. Obviously, there’s a couple of new singles that will be there, guaranteed to make a live appearance. Then there’ll probably be one or two tracks that people haven’t heard at all, just to give a little taster. But, it’ll be a nice blend, obviously, with the old classics as well.’

Canterbury played in Ireland last weekend, and will be stopping at the following venues around the country over the next two weeks. Now, there’s no excuses not to check them out.
